(5822) Ohio (river)-type coffer dam
A double-wall timber sheeted coffer dam constructed during low velocities in the river in a unique manner as on the Ohio river (USA). The sheeting is not driven into the bed, but is set into a system of articulating wales and tie rods forming the skeleton framework, that is lowered into the river from a barge. The space between the sheetings is filled with impervious material (illustrated). Skeleton framework is illustrated.
